Govt Panel To Examine Need For Royalty Clearance Certificate In Mining Department

Srinagar, Jan 16: The Government on Monday ordered constitution of a Committee for examining in a time-bound manner the requirement of implementation or otherwise of Royalty Clearance Certificate in the Mining Department.

With Principal Secretary to the Government, Jal Shakti Department as chairman, the members of the committee include Principal Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Member, Administrative Secretary, Mining Department Member and Director, Geology & Mining, J&K (Member Secretary), according to a government order issued here.

“The Committee shall examine all aspects of the issue and undertake stakeholders consultations before coming up with its recommendations to ensure that the system is better than earlier and adds to ease of doing business and reduces compliance burden,” the order reads, adding, “The Committee shall be serviced by the Mining Department and shall submit its report within a month.”
