“Yesterday, Police arrested the main accused involved in the hit and run case at Hakermulla area of Budgam. However, during the course of investigation, it surfaced that the accused is minor and did not possess a valid licence,” police said.

Subsequently, Police on Sunday arrested the juvenile’s father, Nazir Ahmad Hajam son of Ali Mohammad Hajam of Hakermullah Budgam, under relevant sections of law for allowing his minor son to drive the vehicle.

“Pertinently, a speeding Auto Load Carrier bearing registration number JK04G-9135 hit a 15-years-old girl in Hakermulla area of Budgam and fled from the spot. However, within 3 hours of the crime, the vehicle involved in the commission of crime was seized and the driver was arrested.”

Police once again request to parents not to allow minors as well as the persons who does not possess a valid driving licenses hence endangering lives of people.
