Official sources said that these three persons were carrying willow twigs when the boat suddenly sank near Banyari village of north Kashmir district this morning. While two persons swam their way back to safety and reached the embankment, they said, the third one in the boat, Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Baniyari is missing and is feared dead in the water body, one of the Asia’s biggest freshwater lakes.

“Efforts are on to trace him and it seems that the man drowned,” they added.
