As per the DSEK’s order, the class work in all the government as well recognized private schools of Kashmir Division shall be from 10 am to 3 pm within the Municipal limits of Srinagar.

The class work in schools falling outside the Municipal limits of Srinagar, it said, will be from 10: 30am to 3:30pm.

“The order/instructions shall be adhered to strictly by all the concerned institutions. Any deviation in this regard shall be viewed serisouly,” the order added.

Meanwhile, parents on Monday urged schools authorities to announce at least one week’s holiday in schools in view of the weather forecast of rains and snowfall coupled with prediction of “drastic decrease” in the day temperature.

“We request authorities to announce limited holiday during the week or ten days given the fact that schools are not equipped with heating system etc. There is already ample time before examinations this session and as such there won’t be learning losses,” a group of parents said.
