Govt Orders Shifting Of Pediatric Services Of GB Pant Hospital To New Hospital At Bemina

Srinagar, Sept 16:  The Health & Medical Education Department of J&K government on Friday ordered shifting of entire pediatric services of GB Pant Hospital Srinagar to newly constructed 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina here in the interest of seamless patient care.

In this regard, the government asked Principal, GMC Srinagar to assess the proper functionality of all vital aspects at the newly constructed hospital.

The government also accorded sanction to continuation of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Surgical Services along with dispensaries/commercial services at GB Pant Hospital Srinagar as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Consequent upon above,  the government also ordered shifting of Chest Diseases Hospital Srinagar to the GB Pant Hospital Srinagar by Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar.

“In the matter, a detailed proposal delineating holistic action plan by Principal Government Medical College Srinagar shall be shared with the Department,” reads an order, Bhupinder Kumar (IAS), Secretary to the Government Health & Medical Education Department.

The government ordered procurement of Machinery and Equipment such as MRI, Other Pediatric Equipment etc, originally approved for GB Pant Hospital Srinagar  and its installation at newly constructed Children Hospital Bemina by Managing Director, J&K Medical Supply Corporation Limited.

The government ordered utilization of CT scan machine available at Makeshift DRDO, Hospital Srinagar for Pediatric Services at 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina Srinagar, by Principal, GMC Srinagar.
