Srinagar, Sept 12: Body of a 40-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in an orchard at Arath area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Gani Mir of Wadwan Budgam.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that the body was spotted by locals and they informed police. Accordingly, he said, a police team headed by SHO police station Budgam and Chowki officer Soibug alongwith with FSL team visited the spot immediately. “The place of occurrence was examined and body was taken into custody for post mortem and other legal formalities,” he said, adding, “Proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Police.”
