273 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, 2 Deaths Reported In Jammu And Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 15: Jammu and Kashmir reported 273 fresh covid-19 cases while there were two deaths due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

They said that 34 cases were reported from Jammu division and 239 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 474055. Among the cases, 173090 are from Jammu division and 300965 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 11 cases, Udhampur 3, Rajouri 3, Doda 0, Kathua 2, Samba 1, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 14, Reasi 0, Srinagar 60, Baramulla 96, Budgam 29, Pulwama 9, Kupwara 16, Anantnag 23, Bandipora 5, Ganderbal 0, Kulgam 1 and Shopian 0.

There were two deaths, one each from Jammu and Kashmir Valley, due to the virus during the time. So far 4779 people have succumbed to the virus and among them include 2347 from Jammu division and 2432 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 580 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—62 from Jammu division and 518 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4154 active cases— 693 in Jammu and 3461 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. Also 35824 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered in J&K during the time, they added.
