Jammu, Aug 4 : Five persons were killed and 12 others injured, nine of the critically, when a tempo vehicle met with an accident along Jammu-Srinagar highway near Kela Morh in Ramban district.

Official sources said the tempo (JK02AP-5338) skidded off the road after hitting an alto car and rolled down into a deep gorge. Five persons were killed and 12 others were injured in the accident. All the injured were shifted to hospital by rescuers comprising locals and police, they said.

A police officer that five persons were killed and 12 others were injured in the accident. “Five of the critically injured have been shifted to Srinagar hospital and as many others to GMC Jammu. One person is admitted to Ramban hospital,” he added.

The deceased have not been identified so far. The injured include Abid Ahmed  son of Gh  MohammadWani R/O Kapwara age, Driver  Mohammad Zubir  son of  Mohammad Shabir R/O Nowshera Rajouri,  Mohammad Latief  son of  Mohammad Yousif R/O Utrakhand, Rajesh Kumar  son of Prem Dass R/O Grota Jammu,  Mohammad Gulzar  son of  MohammadShafi Rather R/O Bathandi Jammu, Jahangir Ahmad  son of  Mohammad Asadullah R/0 Sheeri Baramulla, Zahid Farooq  son of Farooq Ahmed R/O Pattan Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmed  son of Ab Majeed R/O Sopore Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmed  son of Mohammad Maqbool R/O Lolab Kapwara, Din  MohammadGudali R/O UP ,  MohammadShahid  son of Sugen Ali R/O UP. Also driver Alto Car Mohsin Mir son of Mir  MohammadR/O Chawadi Jammu, was injured in the accident and has been hospitalized also.
