Srinagar, Mar 27: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held before September 2024 and that the union government is planning to revoke Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in the Union Territory.

In an interview, Shah also said, “The government is planning to withdraw troops and leave law and order to the Jammu and Kashmir Police alone,” he said.

On the controversial AFSPA, the home minister said, “We will also think of revoking AFSPA.”
