Srinagar: Global Strategic Policy Foundation Pune (GSPFP), a non-profit, non-political NGO, rather a think-tank in making, in the fields of Defence & Foreign policy, made it’s debut about 10 years back by arranging a grand program in Pune for college students, addressed by Lt. General (Retd )Syed Ata Hasnain, Ex GoC, 15 Chinar Corps & an internationally acclaimed conflict zone management expert with his famous ‘Heart Doctrine’ based upon his experience of 13 years of service in Kashmir.
After the great success of this maiden program GSPFP never looked back, swiftly mustered support, cooperation & blessings of top brass retd. Military & foreign policy experts & conducted various activities, programs, events in most states of India, bettering performance every time.
During one such program in India Islamic Cultural Center (IICC) Delhi, felicitating the next kin of Kargil Hero, martyr Capt. Hanif Uddin on 15th October being the birth anniversary of Hon. President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, declared as world students day, GSPFP got a tremendous positive response of Muslim youth & Dr.Anant Bhagwat, National President of GSPFP, a Pune based Consultant Radiologist, quickly added new dimensions of ‘National Integration’ & ‘Communal Harmony’ to GSPFP ‘s agenda.
This 15th October IICC program in Delhi was attended by a few Kashmiris, one of them happened to be Firdaus Baba, now President of GSPFP JKL chapter, who convinced the office bearers of GSPFP, including Zafar Lari (Delhi), John Verghese (Mumbai) that Kashmir should be the focus for further activities. As usual GSPFP started with a bang & arranged a first of it’s kind program in Sher-E-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) Srinagar, to felicitate next kin of JKP & Indian Army martyrs from Kashmir, at the hands of stalwarts panelists, speakers like Hon.Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, Lt. General(Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain, Lt. General (Retd) Sanjay Kulkarni (Siachen Hero), Admiral(Retd) Anup Singh (former C in C- Eastern Naval Command) & Hon. LG (UT of JK) Manoj Sinha.
Then followed another innovative program in Mumbai (6th September 21) of direct interaction between the speakers – RSS chief Dr Mohanji Bhagwat, Hon Gov. of Kerala Arif Mohammed Khan, Lt. General(Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain & a real representative slice of pan-India Muslims with 40 strong Kashmiri contingent being the center of attention. GSPFP, thus provided a national level platform for aspirations of young Kashmiris.
On ground-Kashmir, under the aegis of GSPFP, JK , Ladkh chief Firdaus Baba, a thorough, fastest growing network of volunteers supporters & admirers, from all 10 districts of valley, is now in place. GSPFP has been tirelessly working in the best interests of Kashmiri Aawam in various fields like education, industrialization employment opportunities, investments, infrastructure, tourism, handicrafts, folk dance & music, sports & day to day problems touching the lives of Kashmiris. GSPFP has conducted many awareness campaigns, rallies against corruption, Narco terrorism & to explain the benefits of ‘Agnipath’ scheme & proposed G-20 summit in Kashmir.
The reason for success for GSPFP in Kashmir is that we don’t work against anybody neither we compete with other organizations, agencies, establishment, political parties, religious groups, stakeholders in Kashmir, rather we play a complimentary role, in the ultimate interests of Kashmiris & Kashmir that happens to be the “Sheesh” of our beloved ‘Bharat Mata”, says Dr. Anant Bhagwat.
Recently, in a ‘first ever’ Press Conference held at GSPFP office in Chhatbal, Srinagar, office bearers announced a grand, first of it’s kind program in Kashmir with international participation. The details & dates will be announced at the ripe time, they said.
