Poonch, July 8: An officer of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Poonch district on Friday.

Official sources said that inquest proceedings are underway if the officer— Assistant Sub Inspector GD Prem Chand—ended his life by shooting himself dead with his INSAS service weapon or there was any other reason behind it.

The incident took place around 5:30 a.m. at ITBP’s 46 battalion stationed at mini secretariat Poonch and body of the ASI was found in pool of blood in his barrack, they said.
