Delhi: The Covid 19 has consumed 1,399 lives taking the death toll to 5,23,622 while as the active caseload declined to 15,636.

Officials said that with 2,483 new Covid cases having been reported in the last 24 hours, India’s virus tally rose to 4,30,62,569, as per Union health ministry data updated on Tuesday.

The Indian Express report reads that of these, 1,347 were reported from Assam to reflect the number of Covid-positive patients who died due to other reasons, the Union Ministry of Health said.

The state reported zero Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, it added. Similarly, the 47 deaths reported in Kerala were based on reconciled figures.
