Advisory Committee to formulate policies on selection of candidates to professional courses

Srinagar, April 20: J&K government on Wednesday constituted an Advisory Committee to formulate policies regarding selection of candidates to various professional courses.

The Advisory committee has been asked to frame policies for the smooth and transparent functioning of the Board. It has been also tasked with to devise policies to ensure efficient conduct of the entrance tests by the Board, suggest measures for maintenance of records of the entrance tests conducted by it as also approve any plan submitted by the Board to ensure timely conclusion of the admission process and counseling thereof.

It shall also approve any contingency plan prepared by the Board to strengthen the existing infrastructure, according to an order by government.

It has been also tasked with to approve any proposal prepared by the Board for consideration of the Government; approve Annual Report prepared by the Board.

The government also ordered that advisory committee shall be governed by the terms and conditions including that the members hailing from Jammu shall be provided free lodging at Srinagar and in Jammu to those hailing from Kashmir, depending upon the venue of the meeting fixed by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations.

The members hailing from Delhi shall be provided free lodging at the places depending upon the venue of the meeting fixed by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations. Cost of air tickets shall be reimbursable besides free transportation shall be provided from Airport to the place of stay and vice-versa on the dates of meeting.

“The Chairman/Members shall be paid an honorarium as may be fixed by the board in terms of Rule-17(f)(iii) of SRO-168 of 2014 dated 10.06.2014 for each day of the meeting.”

The members of the Committee include Chairman, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (Convener); Chairman, J&K, Board of School Education; Chairman, Permanent Statutory Committee; Controller, Central Board of Secondary Examination New Delhi; Dean, Academic Affairs of Jammu and Kashmir Universities and Sheri-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar to be nominate by the concerned vice Chanceilor/Director, SKIMS; Dean, College Development Council of Jammu and Kashmir Universities; One Head of the Department each of Jammu and Kashmir Universities to be nominated by the respective Vice Chancellor; Principals of Government Dental Colleges, Jammu, Srinagar and ASCOMS; Principals of Government Dental Colleges, Jammu, Srinagar and IDS Jammu; Representative of Higher Education Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary); Representative of the Health & Medical Education Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary); Representative of ARI & Trainings Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary); Representative of General Administration Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary); Representative of Skill Development Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary); Representative of Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (not below the rank of Additional Secretary); One Principal each of the College from Jammu/Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English to be nominated by the Director Colleges, J&K     Members); One Professor each of the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English to be nominated by the concerned Vice Chancellor and One Associate Professor each of the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English to be nominated by the concerned vice Chancellor;  One Principal each of the Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu and Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English to be nominated by the Director, School Education Jammu/Kashmir; Controller, J&K Board of Professional Entrance

Examinations; Secretary, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations and One Lecturer each from Higher Secondary School of Jammu and Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English to be nominated by the Director, School Education Jammu/Kashmir.
