Miscreants created scene, Army men were not with two local girls: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday clarified that the Army was unnecessarily dragged into controversy of being with two local girls. The duo had no relationship with the girls.

According to police statement ‘two jawan on their way towards airport stopped at a local restaurant near Humhama for tea.’ “Two local ladies were already having their food at the spot,” statement reads.

Police said that ‘some miscreants tried to create scene there which attracted attention of some of the locals.’

Police reached the spot and intervened.

“During preliminary investigation it was found that the jawans and the girls were not together, ” Police said, adding that they were ‘not known to each other’.

Later the ladies were handed over to their parents.
