J&K Reports 1606 New Covid-19 Cases, 4 Deaths

Srinagar, Feb 5: Jammu and Kashmir reported 1606 new coronavirus cases while four persons succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said 887 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 719 from Kashmir valley, taking the overall case tally to 445497.

Giving district-wise details, Srinagar reported 212 cases, Baramulla 113, Budgam 75, Pulwama 47, Kupwara 63, Anantnag 86, Bandipora 45, Ganderbal 35, Kulgam 33, Shopian 10, Jammu 307, Udhampur 46, Rajouri 24, Doda 259, Kathua 24, Samba 94, Kishtwar 26, Poonch 19, Ramban 79 and Reasi 9.

Regarding the fresh fatalities, the officials said that two each were reported from Jammu division and Kashmir valley respectively. So far 4706 people have died due to the virus—2302 in Jammu and 2404 in Kashmir Valley.

Besides, they said, 5019 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time— 1166 from Jammu Division and 3853 from Kashmir. So far 415109 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 20663—6570 in Jammu and 14094 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 39,626 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
