Srinagar, Jan 28: Mid-level Health Provider (MLHP) on Friday sought intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for release of “long-overdue” incentives to them in Jammu and Kashmir.
A number of calls were received from the MLHPs, saying that they were at odds to understand why the promised incentives were not paid to them while same stand released in favour of the MBBS counterparts. “We were promised Rs 15000 work based incentives long back but due to unknown reasons, not a penny has been paid to us while MBBS staff was paid Rs 20000.” They urged Lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and ensure that incentives were paid to them which according to them are long overdue. Among other schemes, MLHPs are considered important in Ayushman Bharat Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), a flagship scheme of Government of India to provide cashless secondary and tertiary care treatment from the empanelled public and private hospitals to poor and vulnerable beneficiary families.
Despite repeated attempts, Dr Mohammad Ashraf Koka, the nodal officer here, could not be contacted for comment.
