Srinagar, Jan 8: Government has ordered an inquiry into incorporating name of a Class-IV appointee in the list of non-joined candidates furnished by Chief Engineer PW(R&B) Department Kashmir following which the appointment of the person was cancelled.

The inquiry officer Shahid Mehmood (KAS), additional Secretary to Government Public works (R&B) Department, has been asked to submit the report within ten days, according to an order issued by Shailendra Kumar (IAS), Principal Secretary Public Works (R&B) Department.

The inquiry officer has been asked to look into the “matter regarding incorporating the name of the joined candidate into the list of non-joined candidates furnished by the Chief Engineer PW(R&B) Department Kashmir referred (on 28 December 2021).”

The IO has also been asked to “fix responsibility for lapse to initiate strict disciplinary action under CCA Rules 1956.”

When contacted, Shailendra Kumar (IAS), said that the inquiry was ordered after concerned informed that among others one class-IV appointee has not joined and his appointment be cancelled. “After cancellation, they said it was sent by mistake,” Kumar added.
