Also Jammu-Srinagar highway reopened and the traffic would be allowed on both sides provided weather was fair, they said.

“All flights at Srinagar Airport were delayed due to low visibility in the morning but the operations commenced on weather improvement and continued uninterrupted barring six cancellations,” an official of AAI said.

He said there were 45 scheduled flights. “Our operations were delayed due to adverse weather and low visibility. We were able to operate 35 flights and 6 were cancelled,” AAI said in a tweet later in the evening.

“We are grateful to our passengers for showing utmost understanding and cooperation in these days of natural calamity,” it added.

In last two days 79 flights to and fro the Srinagar airport were cancelled while only seven could operate. While 42 flights were cancelled on Tuesday, as many as 37 could not operate on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir valley with the outside world, reopened and the traffic would be allowed on either sides provided weather was fair.

“Subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs (passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar highway viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa,” a traffic department official said in a statement.

However he said commuters are advised not to travel on the highway without confirming the status of road from TCU Jammu/ Ramban and Srinagar in view of inclement weather prediction issued by MeT department.

The highway was closed yesterday due to landslides, mudslides and shooting stones at several places along the 270-km stretch, officials said.

Meanwhile, the official said, Mughal road, which connects Shopian with Poonch-Rajouri districts, Srinagar-Leh highway and Sinthan road, connecting Anantnag and Kishtwar districts, shall remain closed due to snow accumulation.
