J&K Reports 164 Covid-19 Cases, 2 Deaths

Srinagar, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir reported 164 fresh covid-19 cases while two persons died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

40 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 124 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 340598.

There were two deaths reported from Kashmir division due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4521 persons—2196 in Jammu and 2325 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said.

Giving district wise details of the fresh cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported 51 cases, Baramulla 29, Budgam 9, Pulwama 8, Kupwara 3, Anantnag 0, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal 16, Kulgam 1, Shopian 1, Jammu 19, Udhampur 4, Rajouri 1, Doda 5, Kathua 1, Samba 1, Kishtwar 5, Poonch 4, Ramban 0 and Reasi 0.

A number of these cases were confirmed at CD hospital’s diagnostic labouratory and include female (24) (NA) from Singduna, female (35) (NA) from Reshigund, male (36) (NA) from Udipora langate, male (30) (NA) from Badhara qazi, female (32) (NA) from Tral, female (30) (NA) from Kupwara, female (35) (NA) from Wadder zalchadara, female (65) (NA) from Braripora Handwara, male (48) (NA) from Gogjibagh, male (42) (NA) from Rawalpora, female (44) (NA) from Sgr, female (13) (NA) from Sgr.

Moreover, 124 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 29 from Jammu Division and 95 from Kashmir, they said.

So far 334722 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 1355—349 in Jammu and 1006 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 50 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 68900 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
