Srinagar: The cop who was injured in an accident in Rainawari area of Srinagar breathed his last at a hospital here on Thursday.

An official said that the Kashmir Police coo, Iftikhar Ahmad was admitted in Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura.

The deceased was badly injured while on duty when a Auto Load Carrier hit him on December 13. He was hospital and was battling for life.

Identified as Iftikhar Ahmad, cop was living in Zakura area of Srinagar.

An official told INS that the auto driver has been arrested.

“The case has been registered in the incident and the vehicle has also been siezed,” the official said.

Iftikhar breathed his last after remaining hospitalised for almost 11 days.
