“Reviewed COVID-19 situation during the DCs, SPs meeting. Discussed various steps being undertaken across UT,” he tweeted, adding, “We need to focus on Six-fold strategy of Testing, Tracing, Treatment, Covid Appropriate Behaviour, Vaccination & Micro Containment, as the most effective way to tackle pandemic.”

He said all districts must take the steps to prevent a new surge in cases. “Small changes like strict adherence to CAB can make a bigger difference.”

The Lieutenant governor directed the DCs and Health officials to also intensify preventive measures to contain dengue and work in coordination with civic bodies.

Last week Lt Governor had set the timeline of one week for 100 per cent coverage of the overdue second doses.

Emphasising on the need to take effective and quick actions to minimise Covid-19 impacts, the Lt Governor had termed rapid asymptomatic testing and contact tracing as important tools to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Test, Trace, and Isolate mechanism remains critical to the district’s plan for tackling the pandemic, the Lt Governor had said.
