Srinagar, Oct 28: One “militant” was killed after army and police “retaliated an attack” in Cherdari area of Baramulla in north Kashmir, police said.

“(Militants) fired on ADP (area domination party) of Army and Police in Cherdari Baramulla. Alert parties retaliated and one (militant) was killed. One pistol, one loaded magazine and two Pak grenade were recovered from his possession,” a police spokesman said. Later police said that killed person was “hybrid type” militant and identified him as Javed Ahmad Wani of Kulgam. “He assisted (militant) Gulzar (who was killed on 20th Oct) in killing of 2 labourers from Bihar in Wanpoh Kulgam,” he said, adding, “He was on mission to target one shopkeeper in Baramulla: IGP Kashmir,” the spokesman added.
