Srinagar, Oct 15: A gunfight started between militants and joint team of police and CRPF in Bemina area of Srinagar district on Friday, officials said.

They said that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Bemina.

As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

“Encounter has started at Bemina area of Srinagar. Srinagar Police  on the job. Further details shall follow,” police said in a tweet.
