Srinagar: Amid the surge in Covid-19 positive cases especially in Srinagar, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCC&I) President, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad and General Secretary, Farooq Amin have urged business community and people to enforce Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) in letter and spirit to prevent the further spread of the virus.

As the business activities started in Kashmir after the lockdown imposed during second coronavirus wave was eased in phased manner, KCCI fears that lowering of guard by people and business community may take situation back to square one.

As the administration is mulling another lockdown given the spike in positive cases, KCCI urged people to prevent spread of virus and imposition of lockdown.

KCCI urged business community and people to wear masks, maintain physical distance, sanitize hands, and ensure vaccination. It also asked them to strictly implement Covid-19 guidelines in their jurisdiction.

KCCI urged people to cooperate with the UT administration in containing the contagion.

The President and General Secretary urged people especially business community to adhere to precautions and prevent lockdown taking situation back to square one. As the successive lockdowns have adversely impacted the livelihood and economy of people in the past, KCCI have had to put strenuous efforts in convincing administration to ease restrictions. However, if the spike in positive cases is relentless, the lockdown is inevitable which will hurt reviving business in Kashmir.
