Money snatching case: Two arrested, money recovered

Kathua: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two accused and recovery of 16.5 lakh rupees they had snatched from a person.

According to police they received an application that four accused persons snatched 20 lakh rupees from complainant namely Nikhil Prasher of Kathua . As this appliaction recieved in PS kahnachak case FIR no. 110/2021 U/S 382,34 IPC got registered and investigation taken up.

“During the course of investigation police teams have been constituted to nab the culprits and two accused namely 1) Suresh Kumar S/O Hans Raj R/O Chakrabhatti Bhalla Doda 2 ) Ashish Langer S/O Ajay Langar R/O choudhary lane upper Roop Nagar have been arrested and an amount rupees 16.5 lakh has been recovered from their possession,” they said.

Police said that during the course of investigation it is found that accused persons modus operandi is to induce the customer to purchase black turmeric (Kaali Haldhi) in high prices . They convinced customers that this kaali haldhi is spritual thing which can generate huge amount of money in a shortcut way.

“Then they called customer to desserted place with huge amount of money and by taking the benefit they snatched money from the custmoer and fled away from the spot.Case has been registered by police station Kahnachak under Sho Kahnachak vishav partap Singh and under the supervision of Sdpo Domana Kosheen Koul and SP rural sh. sanjay Sharma and under overall supervision of Ssp jammu Sh.Chandan kohli (ips),” police said.
