Srinagar, Jul 09: The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world, was suspended after a huge landslide at Magharkote along the thoroughfare on Friday evening.

“A huge landslide has occurred at Magharkote blocking both way movement of traffic on NHW 44. It may take whole night to clear the debris. Traffic is expected to stabilize only by tomorrow afternoon,” a traffic department official said. The official asked people plan journey accordingly.
