The action was action after several hospitals lodged complaints alleging that the Medical Oxygen Cylinders supplied to the Hospitals are underweight due to which they are not lasting as per the scheduled time.

The Legal Metrology Department Srinagar under Deputy Controller Enforcement inspected various such Plants at Khonmoh Srinagar during which various deficiencies were noticed. The Cylinders were found to be less than the required pressure level which is 130 Bars, however when the pressure level of various samples was checked it was found only at 110 Bar Level which is the violation of Section 30 of the Legal Metrology Act 2009.

In contrast, the industrial units across Srinagar have been found violating all such norms due to which the Case was registered against such defaulters. The Concerned Industrial Unit readily agreed to these lapses and pleaded to compounded the Case departmentally.

Accordingly, fine was imposed on the management and they provided the written undertaking that they will rectify all the shortcomings in the future deliveries.
