Srinagar: Crossing another record India recorded fresh 3.79 lakh Coronavirus cases and 3,645 deaths in 24 hours ending 9 am Thursday.

While India battles the sweeping second wave of the pandemic which has hit the country badly, the demand for medical oxygen has increased 67 per cent in nine days to April 24, Indian Express reported.

Official records, IE reported,  show that Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan had on April 15 written to the Additional Secretaries/ Principal Secretaries/Secretaries (Health) of 12 states informing them about oxygen allocation against their demand for the week beginning April 20. These states are Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
