Night temp Remains Below Normal Across Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, April 27: Weather continues to be pleasant in Kashmir Valley with night temperature remaining few notches below normal, officials said on Tuesday.
A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 9.0°C against 7.6°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.3°C below normal for this time of the season in the summer capital of J&K, he said.
Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 6.6°C against previous night’s 5.6 which was below normal by 1.2°C, the official said.
Mercury settled at 4.0°C against 2.1°C on the previous night in Pahalgam. The temperature was below 0.4°C during this time of the season in the famous tourist resort in South Kashmir, he said.
Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 7.2°C against normal of 8.1°C previous and last night’s 1.5°C, the official said.
Kupwara recorded a low of 5.1°C against 4.2°C on the previous night which is below normal by 2.7°C for this time of the season in north Kashmir district, the official said.
Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, recorded a low of 4.0°C against 4.5°C on the previous night, the official said. It was 0.2°C below normal in the resort, the official added.
The MeT office has predicted “dry and warmer” weather till 3rd May in both J&K and Ladakh.
