Srinagar, April 19: Two militants were killed in a gunfight in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday, police said.

The encounter ensued after a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Zeipora area of the district amid specific information about the presence of militants.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces which was retaliated, triggering off a gunfight. Two militants have been killed, the police said
