Temp Falls Across Kashmir

Srinagar, April 09: With dry weather predicted for now, the minimum temperature fell across Kashmir Valley with Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort, recording minus 2.5°C, officials said on Friday.
A meteorological department official said that the minimum temperature was minus 3.0°C below normal for this time of the year in Gulmarg.
He said that the mercury settled at 4.6°C against 5.5°C on the previous night in Srinagar. The temperature in the summer capital was minus 2.3°C for this time of the season.
Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 3.0°C against 4.4°C on the previous night, the official said.
Pahalgam, the famous resort in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of minus 0.1°C against 1.9°C on the earlier night.
Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 3.2°C against previous night’s 4.0°C, the official said.
Kupwara recorded a low of 2.6°C, same as on the previous night, the official said.
The meteorological department has forecast mainly dry weather for now across Jammu and Kashmir.
