Srinagar, April 09: Unknown gunmen shot dead a man from territorial army in Jablipora area of Bejbhera in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.

Official sources said that militants fired upon a man (45), leaving him critically injured.

Medical Superintendent Sub District Hospital Bhejbera Dr Tulla Singh while confirming the incident to GNS said that the man was received with multiple bullet wounds in head and abdomen.

He has been shifted to GMC Anantnag for advanced treatment, he said. Sources at G Anantnag said that the man was brought dead.

As per the official sources he has been identified as Mohammad Saleem Akhoon son of Ghulam Hassan Akhoon resident of Bhejbhera and was serving in Territorial Army.

Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants, they said.
