Rajouri DDC Polls Adjourned For Lack Of Quorum

Jammu, Feb 13: The election for chairperson and vice- chairperson posts of district development council in Rajouri district was adjourned by the deputy commissioner due to lack of quorum due to Saturday.
The deputy commissioner in terms of rule 108-ZN of SRO-316 and subsequent procedure, had conveyed the meeting of all elected members at 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Hall of DC office Rajouri to elect chairperson and another to be the vice chairperson DDC.
In pursuance of the notice, they said, only nine members out of 14 attended.
“The undersigned (Deputy Commissioner) along with the staff deployed waited continuously since 11:25 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. but only 9 members reported in compliance to the notice issued,” reads the order. .
“Since there is lack of required quorum, the meeting is adjourned,” he ordered. The date of second meeting shall be notified separately, he added.
