Jammu, Jan 30: Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, former Member J&K Legislative Assembly from Ganderbal, called on Chief Secretary J&K, Shri B V R Subrahmanyam at Civil Secretariat here in Jammu to project demands of people of Ganderbal district.
Jabbar briefed the Chief Secretary about the ongoing schemes in Ganderbal constituency and projected certain demands for the balanced development of Ganderbal constituency.He also discussed with Chief Secretary certain impediments which were delaying the implementation of several important development schemes in Ganderbal district.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar apprised him with various issues regarding his Constituency. He raised the issue of CUK, HEP-II, Pandach-Beehama Road Widening, Women Degree and professional college for Ganderbal, District Hospital Ganderbal, Lift irrigation schemes, main Bus Adda Ganderbal, Drugging and remodeling of Tullamulla- Shadipora Nallah, Four lanning of Tullamulla-Khirbhawani Road, Fire Service stations, roads, upgradation of schools and infra structure, upgradation of sports fields, upgrdation and renovation of parks, besides other issues demands and languish projects.
During the meeting the former MLA apprised the Chief Secretary about the Health sector of the district and raised the issue of dearth of doctors and paramedics, demanded dialysis centre and problems faced by the people during their visit to district hospital Ganderbal.
The former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar raised the issue of Central University of Kashmir with the CS and said that the CUK campus presently working in different locations in Ganderbal, the construction work at the identified site at Tullamulla needs to be taken up on priority basis and be shifted to the designated place at Tullamulla. Sheikh Ishfaq demands that locals especially who have donated their land must be employeed in the CUK.
The Authorities are unnecessary delaying the start of work on 93MW New Ganderbal Hydro Electric Power Project, which needs to be taken on priority basis, Ishfaq informed the Chief Secretary. Chief Secretary assured former MLA Ganderbal that we will explore all options and assured him that the work on the project will be started immediately after re-tendring within 15 days.
Ishfaq riased the issue of new degree colleges and professional and techanical colleges with Chief secretary and breifed him about the rigid terrain and topography of Ganderbal district, there is a need of setting up of several degree colleges in the district so that the students don’t drop out after passing their secondary education.
He said by establishing Degree Colleges and professional colleges in the area would be a boost to the education in the district, which otherwise continues to remain educationally backward. He also retirates his demanded of separate women college for girls in the district.
Ishfaq apprised the Cheif Secretary about the Unani college & hospital and said that the Health & Medical Education department may be directed to employee & give prior to locals in the hospital especially who have donated land.
Regarding the four lane Pandach-Beehama road the former MLA Ganderbal informed Chief Secretary that the work on the important road project which connects valley to Ladakh besides is the main route to Amarnath and Khirbhawani started in April 2018 under CRF but the progress of the work is very slow besides the funds may be released for land acquisition. Chief Secretary assured former MLA Ganderbal that all the bottlenecks with this regard will be cleared and the work will be expidited.
Jabbar demanded four lanning of Tullamulla Khirbhawani road and Drugging of Tullamulla Shadipora Nallah which posses threat to Temple of Khirbhawani and thousands of Kanals if land besides threat to population.
While appraising about the issue of the locals of Chountwaliwar, Shuhama and Tullamulla, Jabbar appealed CS to direct the Fire and Emergency for establishment of Fire Service stations.
Former MLA Ganderbal also raised the waliwar, wutlar, Narayanbagh and Badampora lift irrigation schemes and Gogigund dewatering station upgradation and augmentation demand in these areas. He raised the issue of willow workers with the Chief Secretary and said that around seventy percent population of the many villages of my Constituency including women are associated with the willow work and demands all facilities which include Mandi , boilers and clusters etc.
Ishfaq Jabbar demands expedite of work on Beehama, Qamariya, Lar and other sports fields.
Ishfaq also demandef to release the funds for Guzhama bridge and upgradation of roads. He also raised the work Upgradation of roads in Ganderbal district especially in PMGSY scheme.
Ishfaq also discussed the upgradation of schools, infrastructure and accomodation with the CS.
Jabbar demanded beautification of banks of Nallah Sindh and other Toutism projects.
He also raised the issue of breach of Canal at Malshahibagh which has create serious water issues in the twin districts of Ganderbal and srinager. He also raised other demands and issue for immediate redressal on the spot.
The Chief Secretary assured the former MLA that all his genuine demands would be addressed at an earliest and urged him to continue his positive endeavours for promoting a peaceful environment which would enhance people’s welfare and enable rapid development.
