Srinagar, Jan 29: One militant was killed in a gunfight, first this year so far, in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, police said.
A police official said that the encounter started at Mandoora area of Tral area after a joint team of police, CRPF and army launched a joint cordon-and-search operation following specific inputs about the presence of the militants. Sources said that at least three militants were trapped in the area and when this report was filed, the operation was still in progress.
