Srinagar, January 29: A fierce gunfight broke out at Lelhar area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, officials said. They said a joint team of Police and army launched a joint cordon and search operation in the village amid specific inputs about the presence of the militants. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off the gunfight. Pertinently this is the second encounter of the day in South Kashmir. Earlier In Mandoora Tral, three Hizb militants were killed.
