DDC Polls: 50.98% Turnout Recorded In Final Phase; 29.91% In Kashmir, 72.71% In Jammu

Srinagar, Dec 19: The eighth and last phase of DDC elections recorded voter percentage of 50.98% across 28 constituencies across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Addressing reporters here, State Election Commissioner K K Sharma said that in Kashmir Division, Pulwama has recorded voting percentage of 8.50%, Baramulla 44.60%, Kulgam 11.20%, Shopian 8.58%, Anantnag 8.66%, Bandipora 56.56%, Kupwara 63.80% and Budgam 35.12%.
Similarly, in Jammu division, Kishtwar has recorded voting percentage of 73.45%, Udhampur 60.49%, Jammu 69.39%, Kathua 73.93%, Ramban 73.42%, Doda 70.33%, Samba 73.65%, Poonch 83.58%, Rajouri 77.31% and Reasi 81.92%.
Moreover he informed that the Kashmir Division recorded an overall polling percentage of 29.91% while Jammu Division recorded 72.71% .
In the 8th and last Phase of DDC elections, voting was held in 28 DDC constituencies, 13 from Kashmir division and 15 from Jammu division, where 83 and 85 candidates were in fray respectively.
Moreover, 1703 polling stations were setup in last phase of DDC Elections, 1028 in Kashmir division and 675 in Jammu division for smooth conduct of elections.
