Advisor Baseer Khan attends virtual BoT meeting

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 02: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today attended the first high level virtual meeting of Board of Trade (BoT) for pursuing a strategy to enhance India’s export competitiveness, reduce import dependence and promote balanced and reciprocal trade with partner countries for building an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The meet was attended by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Hardeep Sing Puri, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, CEO, NITI Aayog, Deputy Governor RBI and other high level officers.
Advisor Baseer Khan during the session presented agenda of the policies being adopted by the UT government that will be beneficial for all the segments of the society.
He said that the UT government is providing a platform to investors and trade associations to avail opportunities for promotion of industrial sector and increase the production of Jammu and Kashmir based goods for domestic consumption as well as for export.
Advisor Khan informed the members of BoT that UT government will fully implement policies aimed to attract investors for prolific production and judicious exploitation of resources to materialize the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
He enumerated various initiatives taken up to help investors to establish Controlled Atmosphere (CA) Stores, industrial units, food processing enterprises besides revival of traditional handloom and handicraft industries.
Under the Vocal for Local initiative, Advisor said that young entrepreneurs are being encouraged to set up industrial units for which raw material is available locally.
