Srinagar, Nov 16: Army on Monday said that Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along Line o Control in Tangdhar Sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
“Pakistan fired mortars and other weapons this evening,” Col Rajesh Kalia, defence ministry spokesman based in Srinagar, said in a statement issued here. “Befitting response is being given,” he added. The incident comes three days after five soldiers and four civilians were killed in multiple ceasefire violations along the LoC in the north Kashmir. Pakistan as per media reports has claimed a soldier and six civilians were killed in action of the Indian army along the LoC on Friday last.
