Govt Forms Panel To Ensure Adequate Medical Oxygen Availability In J&K

Srinagar, Oct 20: Government on Tuesday constituted a Committee headed by Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education, for ensuring availability of adequate and uninterrupted Medical Oxygen supply in Jammu and Kashmir.
The 13-mmeber Committee as per an order issued by the government has been asked to continuously monitor the availability of medical oxygen in Jammu and Kashmir and report any shortfalls related problems immediately to the Central Control Room established in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.
The Committee has been also tasked to ensure that no restrictions are imposed on the movement of medical oxygen into the Jammu and Kashmir and free inter-State movement of oxygen carrying vehicles is permitted.”
The Committee shall ensure that no restrictions are imposed on oxygen manufacturers and suppliers to limit the oxygen supplies only to the hospitals of the J&K.
“The Committee shall ensure free movement of oxygen carrying vehicles into the cities, irrespective of timings, alongwith intercity supply without restriction,” reads an order.
