Rs. 25k fine slapped on brick kiln owner for selling underweight, under sized bricks

Budgam, Oct 12: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Budgam today slapped a fine of Rs. 25,000 on M/s Shalimar Brick kiln, Nasrullapora Budgam for selling undersized and under-weight bricks.
The officials of LMD also seized a brick lot from the offender found selling undersize and under-weight bricks in clear violation of the order passed by the Deputy Commissioner Budgam.
The penalty was slapped with an affirmation through affidavit from the concerned offender that the lapse would be rectified immediately.
It was also given out by the owner that to clear the old stock a rebate of 0.40 rupees per brick will be given over and above the rate fixed by Deputy Commissioner Budgam to the customers who are willing to buy the under-sized and under -weight bricks.
