JK Local Bodies Panch Sarpanch Association calls on Advisor Baseer Khan

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: A deputation of JK Local Bodies Panch Sarpanch Association led by its President Molvi Tariq today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan and raised several issues.
Molvi Tariq while interacting with the Advisor raised the challenges faced by them in and sought the intervention of the Advisor for their redressal. He demanded for an increase in the honorarium of the Panchs and Sarpanchs and said that they should be provided accommodation within their own districts.
They also demanded they should be kept in loop about the pre and post execution of works. He said that they are working with utmost dedication for the strengthening of grass root democracy in entire Jammu and Kashmir.
The Advisor while listening to them asked them to work with utmost dedication and assured them they will get every kind of support from the government. He said that they are the voice of the people and people have expectations from them and there is a need for their empowerment.
He also asked them that they should keep in touch with their respective District Commissioners and raise before them the issues faced by them. The Advisor further asked them to monitor the work that is being executed in their respective areas. He also assured them that the objective of the Panchayat Raj will be fulfilled and the government won’t let them down under any circumstances.
Emphasizing the need for strengthening of the local institutions, the Advisor said that there is a need for coordinated efforts for effective delivery of services and said that all the departments are with them.
The Advisor assured them that their immediate and long term demands and issues projected would be looked into for appropriate redressal so that they are settled in a time bound manner.
