Srinagar, August 29 : A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and government forces near Panthachowk in outskirts of Srinagar.
“Militants fired upon joint naka of Police & CRPF at Panthachowk. The joint parties cordoned off the area. During search in the area, militants again fired upon search parties, leading to an encounter. Further details shall follow,” police tweeted.
As per the sources, three militants are believed to be trapped. Earlier three bike-borne militants had attacked a joint team of police and CRPF near Panthachowk in which no damage was done, they said.
