Petrol products ‘fast depleting’: Govt restricts 3 litres per vehicle per day in Kashmir

Srinagar: The divisional administration on Thursday ordered rationing of petrol products in view of their fast depletion in Kashmir Valley.
“In view of the fast depletion of petrol products I.e. MS & HSD and LPG, It is felt expedient to implement the rationing, with respect to the distribution of these products, till such time the supplying position Improves after road opening,” reads an order issued by the divisional commissioner Kashmir. Accordingly all the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to ensure that no petrol pump will issue more than three litres of petrol per vehicle per day. “Similarly with respect to Diesel they will not issue more than 10 litres to the Commercial vehicles per day.”
Besides, the divisional commissioner said that IOC, HP, BP will restrict the supply of petrol, diesel to petrol pumps to 1000 litres per day and will reserve separate quota for Govt. vehicles, Ambulances, Water Tankers, Snow Clearance Machines etc.
“Deputy Commissioners will also ensure that rationing Is effectively carried out on ground and FCS&CA officials in each District shall give position of distribution and sales by Companies and Petrol pumps respectively on day to day basis to the Deputy Commissioners & this office.”
