Ranbirgarh Gunfight: Another Militant Killed, Toll 2

Srinagar, July 25: One more unidentified militant was killed in a gunfight in Ranbirgarh area in outskirts of Srinagar district on Saturday, officials said.
Officials said that Police and army’s 29RR launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area on specific information about the presence of the militants. As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off the gunfight. In the initial firefight a soldier was injured and was shifted to hospital. Later, they said, an unidentified militant was killed. Subsequently, one more militant was killed, the officials said.
“Another unidentified militant killed (total two). Searches are going on. Further details shall follow,” a police official said.
