65-year-old woman killed in firing along LoC in Poonch

Poonch, July 8: A woman was killed and another injured in alleged firing and shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control in Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said.
Officials said that there was an unprovoked small arms firing and shelling along the LoC in Balakote and Mendhar sectors at about 0200 hours. “The Indian Army retaliated befittingly and the firing stopped at about 0245 hours.”
One woman identified as Rashim Bi (65) wife of Mohammad Azam of Sagra, at present Lanjoite Balakote was killed and one person, Hakam Bi (60) Wife Of Moghammad Sahrif of Lanjoite, a police official said.
He said police post incahrge Balakote Showket Amin Khan along with police party visited the shelling hit house and shifted the injured woman to PHC Dhargloon wherefrom she was later referred to Government Medical College Rajouri.
