LAWDA demolishes several illegal constructions, structures

Srinagar: Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) carried a demolition area of Nigeen, Rainawari and Green Belt of Lashkari Mohalla. During the demolition drive two second storeys and one single storey house was demolished on the spot, reads a statement issued by the LAWDA. Furthermore, anti-encroachment drive was launched against the encroachers, who have encroached green area from the Nehru Park Ghat to Nishat Ghat by way of raising temporary barbeque shelters, view cutters and open air restaurants. These temporary shelters were removed and the items in shape of tables, chairs, tripals etc were seized by the demolition of this wing.
“Moreover, a spontaneous night naka drive is presently going on against the tippers for carrying illegal construction material in which several tippers have been seized by this wing and FIRs stands lodged.”
In this regard, all the public residing within the LAWDA jurisdiction and in lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions and encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue with demolition of illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments. “Moreover the Tipper/Load carried owners are directed not carry / ferry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without getting permission and in case anybody found shall be dealt as per law.”
