Srinagar, June 24: Bhartiya Janata Party J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur on Wednesday toured Tral area of Pulwama district to take stock of the ongoing developmental works and to get the firsthand account of issues facing the people.
Speaking with various delegations, Thakur said that BJP was committed to make Tral one of the model towns of J&K. he was accompanied by national executive member of BJP Muhammad Anwar Khan.
Several public delegations met Thakur and apprised him that the main and interior roads in the area be repaired on a fast track basis. He said locals told him that government land (Khahcharai) at Chittergam, Tral was used for grazing cattle by the locals but the government plans to construct poultry farms against the wish of locals. Thakur urged the concerned authorities not to annoy locals and instead let the land remain as it is in the public interest.
He also appealed to the concerned authorities to take up the repair work of roads in the area on fast track basis as people were facing immense problems due to bad roads that have developed potholes everywhere.
He also visited Dadsara block of Tral and met public delegations there and later held deliberations with the Block Development Officer (BDO) and urged him to fulfil demands of people with regards to roads, Jal Jewan issues, electricity poles, transformers etc. he announced all the issues people of Tral and Dadsara are confronted with, will be resolved in a time bound manner.
