Govt re-constitutes High Level Steering Committee for implementation of SSS scheme

Jammu: The government has accorded sanction to re-constitution of a High Level Steering Committee (HLSC), comprising senior officers for implementation of “Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS)” Scheme in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The new Committee would comprise of Chief Secretary, J&K as its Chairman while Administrative Secretaries of Finance Department, Information Technology Department and Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, representative from Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, GoI, and Director General, Planning, Marketing & Concurrent Evaluation (PM&CE), Planning, Development & Monitoring Department as its members, and Director General, Economics & Statistics, J&K as Member Secretary.
The terms of reference of the Committee shall be to consider and recommend the project report on “Support for Statistical and Strengthening (SSS)” for approval by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India; to oversee the implementation and monitoring of the SSS Plan in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and to issue necessary guidelines/instructions to the line departments associated with Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for extending full cooperation to the Nodal Officers/Agencies.
