Srinagar: Police on Sunday said that two unidentified militants were killed in an ongoing encounter with joint team of police and CRPF at Zadibal area of Srinagar in the outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday.
“Another militant killed. Operation going on. Further details shall follow,” police said. Earlier police said that one militant was killed.
Reports quoting officials said that the gunfight broke out when the joint team zeroed in on a target house in Pozwalpora mohalla in the area, there was firing from militants hiding there. The fire was retaliated, triggering off encounter, he said.
Mobile internet services were stopped in this summer capital of the J&K. Authorities says it has been done as a precautionary measure to prevent protests.
